Allegations of Abuse and/or Misconduct

Fr. Francisco Schulte abused at least three children (including a 13 year old) in Humacao, Puerto Rico in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Fr. Schulte recruited one of his Puerto Rico victims to attend St. John's Prep School in Collegeville, MN, where the abuse continued.

Fr. Schulte abused at least two children (ages 12 and 14) in North Carolina in the late 1970's. Fr. Schulte recruited one of his North Carolina victims to attend St. John's Prep School in Collegeville, MN, where the abuse continued.

Schulte abused a student in his Prep School office in 1987. Fr. Dan Ward discussed Fr. Schulte's ''problems with students'' at St. John's Prep with another monk in 1997. Fr. Schulte was on restriction in 2002 but Abbot John Klassen took Schulte off of restriction in 2003, despite "credible allegations of sexual misconduct".

In 1983, Fr. Schulte warned a student to stay away from Fr. Dunstan Moorse. After that warning, Fr. Moorse would abuse at least five more students.
